Waiting for Printer to become available

Worked fine yesterday.

iMac, OS Sierra, USB connection

I have unplugged printer power and usb and reconnected. I have deleted the printer form Mac list of printer, and added it back, I have restarted the Mac. Same error.

Which printer model is it? Have you tried a different USB port and/or USB cable? Have you downloaded the printer driver directly from the manufacturer rather than from Apple?

May I assume that the printer worked in Sierra previously, or did it stop working when you upgraded to Sierra?
